The tunnels (BEN DUOC) are located approximately 70 km from Ho Chi Minh city. The tour departs at 7:30 am  or 12:00 from Vietnam Adventure Tours office or from your hotel in district 1. Enjoy the scenery along the way, as we pass the lush, endless rice fields and the ducks are water buffaloes swimming in the rivers. You might find it hard to imagine that once the area was almost completely destroyed by bombs and mines from the war, when Cu Chi was a “free target zone “.

If you like, try to cook with the smokeless stoves used by Vietnamese soldiers to cook during the war. You can even try foods which the soldiers lived on. If you’re feeling brave, or curious, you can even try your hand at shooting at AK-47, one of the guns used during the war.

Highly recommend this tour of the Chu Chi Tunnels. Our tour guide Tuan was a 76 year old war veteran who was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a deep insight into the war and tunnels. He shared his own personal experiences and was passionate in educating us. A great trip and definitely a must do tour!

This experience was really informative and interesting. Our tour guide Tuan was incredible and explained everything very thoroughly. He himself served in the war and therefore had some really good insight and perspectives. We were so happy to have him as our guide.

Tuan shared personal experience from his time in the military and illustrations of what it was like for these living in the tunnels as well as for those who attacked them.

The Cu Chi tunnels tour was full of unexpected surprises. Starting with our tour guide, Tuan, who is a veteran of the war himself, providing insights that were well-rounded and expressed the viewpoints of both the North, the South, and the USA. The tour was very engaging, as Tuan shared personal anecdotes that brought history to life. Exploring the intricate tunnel system was both fascinating and eye-opening, giving us a profound appreciation for the resourcefulness of the Viet Cong. The preserved artifacts and exhibits further enhanced our understanding. However, be prepared for tight spaces. Overall, a thought-provoking experience that beautifully blends history, education, and perspective.

Highly recommend this tour of the Cu Chi tunnels. Mr Tuan was a fantastic tour guide. He is a Vietnam war veteran and Cu Chi tunnels survivor with a wealth of knowledge to share. He explains in detail
how the Vietnamese people survived in the tunnels and fought while outgunned and outnumbered. He shares his own personal story of survival and stories of his time in the Vietnamese armed forces. A must do for anyone visiting Vietnam.

Tuan was a very kind and experienced guide on our trip to the tunnels.
Drawing from his own time during the war, he offered some insights that we could not have gotten by just visiting. He also was very honest about some elements, told us when truths were a bit embellished but also made sure we understood the severity of the situation. Explaining far more than could be registered by looking.
Sure, his English is not the best ever, but it’s a lot better than most English I’ve heard on my stay.
