For example:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li data-start=\"1382\" data-end=\"1511\">Tuyen Quang Province now includes the former H\u00e0 Giang Province and the old Tuy\u00ean Quang.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1514\" data-end=\"1633\">Lao Cai Province now covers the area of the old L\u00e0o Cai and Y\u00ean B\u00e1i Province.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1636\" data-end=\"1758\">Thai Nguyen Province now merges the former Bac Kan Province and old Thai Nguyen.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1761\" data-end=\"1940\">A larger province called Phu Tho Province now comprises the territories of the former Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc Province, and Hoa Binh Province.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1942\" data-end=\"2052\">In total, 23 new provincial-level units were formed through mergers.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"List_of_34_provincesmunicipalities_of_Vietnam_After_2025_merger\"><\/span>List of 34 provinces\/municipalities of Vietnam (After 2025 merger)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Following the 2025 administrative restructuring, Vietnam now consists of 34 provinces and centrally governed municipalities.
